Andy Warhol was an icon of his age reigning as `The King of Pop ‘he revolutionized the art world and the way we view art today in the 20th century. His works directly reflect the contours of the turbulent 1960`s. He introduced the multiple screen print which was to reflect corporate consumerism. His subjects includes consumer products, sexual liberation, rock music, drug use, tragic death, and a heavy dose of shopping—the cultural phenomena that defined the decade are all on display in his art. He is best known for portraits of Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, deadpan paintings of Campbell’s soup cans, and polaroid’s of himself in a fright wig amongst many.
